For twelve months, the Coastal Resilience Advisory Committee (CRAC) has been working closely with the Town’s hired consultant, Arcadis, on a comprehensive plan to address climate change and sea level rise. This plan looks at every vulnerable area of Nantucket and discusses short-term and long-term planning for coastal resilience. The Draft can be found HERE. NLC has been active in reviewing the plan, suggesting changes and educating our members and the public on this critical process. This plan will steer our decision-making for the rest of the century, and impact every single visitor to the island. If you’d like to get involved, the CRAC meets every first and third Tuesday to review and discuss various aspects of the plan.
